Today Walt Bennetti, political blogger from ClickJefferson.com joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' and discussed among other things:

  • $40 million that will be used to construct a 'wind farm' in St. Mary Parish
  • Governor Bobby Jindal at the 'Red State' gathering in New Orleans this weekend
  • Congressman Bill Cassidy snubbed at 'Red State'
  • John Kennedy for Governor
  • Scott Angelle for something

Bennetti wondered why $40 million was being proposed to construct a 'wind farm' in St. Mary Parish while the State of Louisiana had a free wind farm in Baton Rouge each year.

The annual 'Red State' political gathering was held this weekend in New Orleans and Bennetti noted,

I found it interesting that the Governor (Bobby Jindal) actually gave a speech in Louisiana and it was actually partially about Louisiana.  He talked for 40 minutes so he had to squeeze in something about Louisiana.  It was a rambling speech.  I don't know if you saw it on the internet.  Even C-Span didn't carry it.  He talked about everything from repealing Obamacare to Common Core...For the last 10 minutes or so he talked about how everybody needs to get behind Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and promote him to be the next Governor of Virginia.  Which made no sense when you have a room of 200 to 300 people mostly from Louisiana.

According to Bennetti Congressman Bill Cassidy was snubbed at the 'Red State' event.  Bennetti said,

Bill Cassidy was 'persona non grata' in New Orleans this weekend.  He was not invited so speak at the 'Red State' conference.  He sent in his money so he could come and attend and Eric Erickson, the founder of "Red State' refunded Bill Cassidy's money.  In fact Bill Cassidy's campaign paid for a booth so they could be a sponsor of 'Red State' and that money was refunded as well.

On the topic of Treasury Secretary John Kennedy running for Governor of Louisiana in the next election Bennetti wondered about Kennedy's comment that,

'He was a very, very seriously considering a run for the office'.  In addition Kennedy said 'I believe in the possibility of progress'.  What the heck does that mean?
