Bennetti Says Landrieu May Be Facing Strong Opposition

Walt Bennetti of clickjefferson.com joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and discussed several topics including:

• Senator Mary Landrieu's fund raising
• Possible opponents of Senator Landrieu

When asked about the possibility of Congressman Bill Cassidy running against Senator Landrieu Bennetti said,

I think he's definitely laying the cards out to run for the Senate in 2015.  Mary Landrieu reported her campaign finances on Thursday and she has $2.5 million in the bank already.  Which is two and half times what she started her 2008 campaign with.  Bill Cassidy as a Congressman already had $2 million in the bank as of November which is a high number because most Congressmen have $500,000 to $700,000 at the start of a campaign.

According to Bennetti,

Senator Landrieu may face others including Congressman John Fleming and the wild-card of Jeff Landry.  It looks like Republicans could be eating our own again and chopping the money down...Jeff Landry has shown he can raise money and he is the TEA Party favorite.  I mean he's going to get money if that's where he wants to go, if he wants to be a "spoiler" and keep his name out there.
