Wanted Los Angeles Man Arrested In Eunice
EUNICE, La. (KPEL) -- A 49-year-old Los Angeles man wanted there for allegedly raping a juvenile girl was arrested in Eunice yesterday following a coordinated investigation between two offices of the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force.
According to Deputy U.S. Marshal Corey Britt, the Lafayette Marshal's office was notified by its counterpart in Los Angeles that they believed Gary James was in the Eunice area. James was wanted in Los Angeles on charges of lewd lascivious acts with a child less than 14 years of age, Britt said.
Agents found the "target vehicle," a white Chevroley pickup truck with Arizona license plates, Britt said. When they went into the home, they found James inside working construction. Britt said he tried to give police false information at first, but he eventually confessed to being the person they were looking for.
James was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
