Washington Redskins rookie running back Derrius Guice will miss the entire season after suffering a torn ACL in last night's preseason game against the New England Patriots, according to multiple reports.

Guice suffered the injury to his left knee in the first quarter.

The LSU alum and Baton Rouge native was a 2nd round pick, and was primed to be the opening day starter for Washington next month.

Guice, a young man who is as gregarious off the field as he is talented on it, send out the following tweet after the news was released.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports Guice hyperextended his left knee at LSU, but never got surgery, pondering if it may have played a factor in the injury suffered last night.

An All-American at LSU, Guice will now shift his focus to rehabbing after he undergoes surgery to repair the ACL tear in his left knee.
