Webster Parish Coroner’s Bookkeeper Indicted For Theft

MINDEN, La. (AP) — The former bookkeeper for the Webster Parish coroner's office has been indicted on malfeasance and felony theft charges.

The Times reports the grand jury returned the indictment against Glen Guin after hearing evidence in the embezzlement of public funds.

District Attorney Schuyler Marvin says the total amount of missing money has been tallied to more than $93,000, which is slightly less than the $100,000 figure initially given.

Marvin says Guin met with sheriff's investigators and state police following the grand jury session on Monday and was booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

Marvin says Guin had already given investigators a statement as to his involvement with the stolen money that allegedly was used to fund a daughter's participation in horse shows.
