WEST MONROE, La. (AP) — A man wanted in a home invasion has surrendered to authorities in West Monroe Police Cpl. J.P. Gabb tells The News-Star 33-year-old Dustin Christopher Barton was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on a warrant charging him with simple burglary.

Gabb said on Sept. 21, around 12:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call from a female resident who returned home unexpectedly and found an intruder inside of her home.

Gabb said Barton contacted state police and turned himself in.

He was taken into custody without incident and was being held without bond.

It was unclear whether Gabb has an attorney.
