WEST MONROE, La. (AP) — A West Monroe city employee has been arrested on a charge he sold city-owned property.

The News-Star reports (http://tnsne.ws/LOh3l0) 44-year-old Marvin Lancaster was booked Thursday into Ouachita Correctional Center on a theft charge. Bond wasn't immediately set.

Police say Lancaster admitted he stole and sold scrap water meters and scrap brass instead of bringing them back to a city workers' complex and placing them in a scrap pile.
