MONROE, La. (AP) — Ouachita Parish deputies arrested a 44-year-old woman accused of stealing more than $1,300 from her employer.

The News-Star reports Johnnie Hodge, of West Monroe, was booked Tuesday into Ouachita Correctional Center on a felony theft charge.

According to an arrest affidavit, a victim told deputies Hodge had written duplicate payroll checks totaling over $1,365 using lower numbered checks than the original checks.

The report stated Hodge then wrote three more checks, worth about $550, which were not due or authorized.

Hodge told deputies the checks she wrote were for reimbursement for using her car and said work was "hectic" on Friday.

Her bond was set at 5,000.

It was unclear whether Hodge has an attorney.
