PLYMOUTH, Calif. (AP) — Fire officials in Northern California say more than 500 homes are still being threatened by a wildfire that's burned roughly 6 square miles in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

Firefighters have made progress battling the blaze, and it's now 50 percent contained.

The fire has destroyed 13 homes and 38 outbuildings.
