New Orleans Saints wide receiver Willie Snead will miss the first 3 games of the NFL season as part of his suspension for violating the NFL Conduct Policy, as first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Snead's initial suspension was 4 games, but after appeal, was reduced by 1 game to 3.

Snead will miss the season opener at Minnesota, week 2's home game against New England, and week 3's matchup at Carolina.

The suspension is extremely disappointing for both Snead and the Saints. Snead is playing on a 1 year, $617,000 exclusive rights free agent deal. He's in a contract year.

Snead, the number 2 receiver in New Orleans, will see his snaps picked up by Ted Ginn Jr. and Brandon Coleman.
