Wire Fraud Nets Erath Woman Prison Sentence

At a hearing yesterday 27 year old Hue Bui of Erath was sentenced by District Judge Elizabeth Foote to 12 months in prison for one count of wire fraud.

In addition to the prison sentence Bui will serve 2 years supervised release and pay restitution of $30,222.12 to Walk-on's Bistreaux and Bar in Lafayette.

According to investigators Bui used $25 prepaid American Express, VISA and Mastercard gift cards that she bought. During her shift she would create fake orders costing less than $25 along with a tip and collect the tips at the end of her shift. The credit card companies charged amounts that exceeded $25 to Walk-on's.
