Woman, 85, In Critical Condition After Dog Attack
POLLOCK, La. (AP) — KALB-TV reports that an 85-year-old woman remains in critical condition after being attacked by stray dogs.
Grant Parish Sheriff Steven McCain tells the station deputies have caught 14 stray dogs for testing since Bobbie Cheveallier was attacked while taking out trash at her home near Pollock.
Her son Randy Cheveallier tells The Town Talk that his mother's legs had to be amputated above the knees.
He says nobody saw the attack.
Cheveallier says a neighbor's boyfriend saw three dogs in his mother's yard Wednesday afternoon, went over to see what was going on, and found her on the ground, unconscious. He says the neighbor called 911, and both stayed with his mother until an ambulance arrived.
