BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Baton Rouge police have arrested a 34-year-old woman accused of punching a blind woman for whom she was working as a caretaker.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim told police she went to her sister's house late Monday to tell her how poorly Danea Patterson had been treating her.

The victim said she had not received a proper bath in three weeks and had not been fed properly.

Police say the victim went back to her home to get her medicine so she could stay with her sister. When she returned home, Patterson stopped her in the doorway and then punched the woman in her face and back.

The Advocate reports Patterson was booked Tuesday with cruelty to the infirmed.

It was unclear whether Patterson has an attorney.
