The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says an Opelousas woman has been arrested after she allegedly killed her uncle after he allegedly wouldn't stop chattering.

At first, detectives say that 49-year-old Melissa Ann Credeur told them she had been raped by her uncle John Ray Gautreaux, and she woke up to find him on top of her.
Credeur was taken to the hospital, but officials say the rape kit came back negative, and the woman was not raped.
While investigators were working to find out more details about what happen, the woman claimed that she killed her uncle allegedly because he would stop talking.
Credeur was charged with 2nd degree murder, and her bond has been set at $150,000.
Detectives say that Credeur told them that her uncle fell asleep on top of her, and she started beating him to get him to wake up and move off of her.
Officials say they found the man with multiple marks and bruising on him, and he was found in the fetal position.
The woman told deputies she beat the man with the following items:
A flashlight
A metal electric fan
Pencils
