Woman Arrested After Lost Child Found

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A 26-year-old Keithville woman remains in jail after allegedly losing her one-year-old son in the woods in southwest Caddo Parish.

Megan Ashley Brewer was booked with child desertion.

Caddo sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick told The Times Brewer took the boy into the woods just before 3 a.m. Sunday. A pair of Shreveport Fire Department search dogs found the child just after 4 a.m.

He had mosquito bites and scratches but apparently wasn't seriously injured. Paramedics took him to LSU Hospital in Shreveport for a medical evaluation.

Brewer was booked into Caddo Correctional Center with no bond set as of late Sunday.
