Woman Arrested For Hatchet-Swinging Road Rage

BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) — Bossier City police arrested a Shreveport woman and took the hatchet they say she used to chase and threated two people after a road rage incident.

Melissa Ann McSwain faces charges of aggravated assault and simple property damage.

Police say the incident began Tuesday when McSwain almost hit a car backing out of a driveway. When that car later stopped behind hers, the Times reports McSwain became aggressive, running the car off the road. The victims said McSwain then exited the car with a hatchet and ran toward their vehicle. The victim and her passenger ran from the vehicle and called police.

McSwain was booked into the Bossier City Jail.

It could not be determined if McSwain has an attorney.
