Woman Arrested For Helping Rayne Jail Inmate Escape

A 30-year-old woman was arrested for helping an inmate escape from the Rayne City Jail last week.

According to Chief Carroll Stelly, Marcie Walsh was one of "two individuals who assisted in the escape of Leroy Begnaud."

More arrested were expected, Stelly said.

Marcie was arrested on a warrant from the Rayne Police Department by officers from the U.S. Marshal's Violent Offender Task Force's Lafayette Division.
