Woman Arrested On I-10 With Nearly Two Pounds Of Cocaine

22 year old Lindsay L. Billiot of Marrero was arrested early this morning on I-10 West of Sulphur after troopers pulled her over for a traffic violation. Troopers asked for permission to search her vehicle but Billiot refused. State Police then deployed K-9 Hugo who indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. During the ensuing search troopers found approximately 1.7 pounds of powdered cocaine with an estimated street value of $73,7000.

Billiot was charged with improper vehicle equipment and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. She was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correction Center. If convicted Billiot faces up to 30 years in prison and up to a $50,000.
