SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A Minden woman has been found guilty of fatally stabbing a Barksdale Air Force Base airman more than 65 times in 2010.

The Times reports (http://bit.ly/JF3bFD ) that after a week of testimony and more than two hours of deliberation, a jury found Kimethia Coleman guilty Wednesday night of killing Staff Sgt. Brian Spinks in his apartment.

She was convicted of a second-degree murder charge and is scheduled to be sentenced May 11. She faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

In closing arguments, Assistant District Attorney Dale Cox said Coleman stabbed Spinks in the back to subdue him and then continued to stab him more than 60 times to kill him.

Coleman's lawyer argued that she acted in self-defense and that Spinks was drunk and angry.
