Woman Faces Drug Charges After Filing Complaint At Opelousas Police Department
A woman is arrested after allegedly bringing drugs with her to a police station.
Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow says Jernita Williams went to the station to file a complaint against someone. But after she left, Gallow says officers noticed a small bag of marijuana on the floor near the chair where she had been sitting. Gallow says officers reviewed surveillance tape and it was clear that the marijuana had fallen from her clothing.
He says they then asked her to come back to the office where she was booked for possession of marijuana. She has since bonded out.
