Woman In Critical Condition After Crash In Lafayette

Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Deputies say a 45-year-old Duson woman is in critical condition this morning after a crash on Le Violen Road last night.

The sheriff's office says the victim was driving near the intersection of Le Violen Road and Dairyman Road when for unknown reasons, she drove off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Deputies say the driver was unrestrained, and she was ejected from the truck.

The Lafayette Sheriff's Office says speed was a factor in the crash.

Deputies say the crash remains under investigation, and the identity of the woman is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
