Woman Robbed While Searching for Vehicle in Parking Lot

Early this morning Lafayette Police responded to the 2800 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway after a woman called to say she had been robbed at gunpoint while trying to locate her car in a parking lot.

The victim told police as she was looking for her car, she saw a small two door yellow truck drive up next to her.  She says the truck was driven by a black male and there were two black females in the truck.

She says the man asked her if she needed help.  The suspect then got out of the truck, pulled out a handgun and demanded her purse.  The woman turned over her purse, and she says the suspects then fled the parking lot in the southbound direction on Ambassador Caffery.

The victim then went to a nearby business to cal police.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects, to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
