Woman’s Body Found In New Iberia House Fire

The body of 45 year old Amber L. Callahan was found Monday evening in the remains of a New Iberia house fire. Firefighters responded to the call at 7310 Joe Viator Road and found the mobile home completely engulfed in flames. After the fire was put out Callahan's body was found. Callahan's boy friend, 53 year old Eugene Haley was slightly injured when he attempted to enter the home. Investigators determined where the fire originated and the investigation is ongoing. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of Callahan's death.
