SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A Benton woman from a prominent north Louisianafamily was killed in a one-car crash in Bossier Parish.

State police said 62-year-old Sydney Adelle Biedenharn was pronounced dead at the scene of the Sunday night crash on La. Highway 3 north of Benton.

The accident occurred just before 9 p.m., when Biedenharn's southbound 2008 Cadillac Escalade left the roadway on the right side and struck a tree. She was alone in the vehicle and wore her restrains.

The Times reports that Biedenharn was a daughter of the late Coca-Cola bottling magnate Rudolph Z. Biedenharn. She was president of the Biedenharn Foundation, which annually provided the largest single donation to The Times' Joy Fund, a Christmas season charity in Shreveport.
