As many times as I've traveled Verot School Road, it's never dawned on me that it doesn't lead to an actual school. I mean, the road is named after a school, but where the heck is Verot School, or rather where was Verot School?

Thanks to Craig Zimmerman and the Facebook page 'Lafayette Memories', we got the details on the original location for the school using maps from the USGS dating back to 1954 and overlaying with the current map.

As you'll see in the map below, Verot School was located at what is now the CVS at the intersection of Ambassador Caffery and Verot School Road. The dotted lines leading from it and crossing the train tracks (who knew?) is Farrell Road.

It's kind of crazy how hard it is to find information about the old Verot School. I'm not certain what year it opened, but I did find out it operated until 1940.

I'm told that the actual Verot School building still exists and is now located somewhere on Kaliste Saloom. If you know where it is and have a picture of it, please pass it along to me and I'll include it in this story.
