SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Some people still plan to spend the Labor Day holiday at Yosemite National Park, despite a 311-square-mile fire in and around the park in California.

The blaze is 33 percent contained, but more than 20,000 acres of the fire are along the northern edge of the 750,000-acre national park.

The blaze has affected breathing for some as far as 150 miles away, but 20 miles upwind in Yosemite Valley, the sky is clear and not even the scent of smoke is in the air.
