Downtown Lafayette is gearing up for the Uncle Sam's Jam this Sunday, and Parc Sans Souci is going to be dressed in its best red, white and blue!

You can help bring some patriotism to the park tomorrow morning, as a volunteer crew will be assembled to paint the Lafayette sign red, white and blue.  More volunteers are needed.  All supplies will be provided; all you need to bring is your painting arm and a good attitude!

As you can see, the sign is primed, but it needs to be completed before the end of the day tomorrow, so if you have the morning or afternoon, a few minutes or a few hours, why don't you swing by, grab a brush, and help Parc Sans Souci say "Happy Birthday, America!".

This is from Ted Richard, the guy who put together the paint scheme for the sign:

The Paint LAFA-ETTE sign event is open to the public tomorrow.. Anyone who wants to come and help are most certainly welcome. DDA has provided all of the supplies. Just bring your own refreshments. The Paint LAFA-ETTE PROJECT begins at 8am and continues until we are done. Come out and be a part of Lafayette's community of artistry. NOTE: this is also a family friendly event... And you don't have to be an "artist" to participate... Heck, I can't even paint a straight line !! Ted A. Richard
