Young Boy Allegedly Kills Caregiver In East Feliciana Shooting

Sheriff Deputies in East Feliciana Parish say an eight-year-old allegedly shot his 90-year-old caregiver in the head minutes after he was playing the violent video game "Grand Theft Auto IV."

Sergeant Kevin Garig says the victim, identified as Marie Smothers, was watching television in the living room when the boy allegedly shot her.

Sergeant Kevin Garig says deputies are still trying to figure out an exact motive. He says, by all accounts, the two had a normal, loving relationship.

The boy is in the custody of his parents.
