29-year-old Scott Jacob and 28-year-old Catherine M. Marshall are both behind bars after allegedly robbing numerous people during a 9-hour stretch from Friday into early Saturday morning, at 4 different bank ATMs.

Lafayette Police spokesperson Corporal Paul Mouton says the first alleged robbery happened at around 4:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Pinhook Road. Cpl. Mouton says the victim was robbed while he was in his vehicle, stopped at the ATM. Police say Jacob, armed with a pistol, approached his driver’s side window and took a small amount of money, fleeing in an older model maroon Isuzu pickup truck that was occupied by Marshall.

The second alleged incident happened at a bank ATM in the 1200 block of Kaliste Saloom Road around 5:20 p.m. Cpl. Mouton says Jacob allegedly tried to rob a female, again at gunpoint, while she was parked at the ATM in her vehicle, but was not able to take any cash before getting away in the truck occupied by Marshall.

The third alleged incident happened around 6:15 p.m. in the 5200 block of Johnston Street. Cpl. Mouton says Jacob, again at gunpoint, tried to rob a male victim, but the victim sped away and called police, providing officers with the same suspect and vehicle description as in the previous robberies.

And the fourth alleged incident happened around 1:00 a.m. Saturday in the 5300 block of Johnsotn Street when Jacob, while armed, allegedly took a small amount of cash from a male victim while at the bank ATM. The couple then allegedly got away like they had the three previous times.

Thankfully, none of the four victims were injured during the robberies.

Officers with the Broussard Police Department were able to eventually catch the two suspects in the maroon Isuzu pick-up truck. Both Jacob and Marshall were arrested and transported to the Lafayette Police Department. They face 2 counts of Armed Robbery and 2 counts of Attempted Armed Robbery. The gun, and a mask allegedly used by Jacob, were both recovered inside the vehicle.

Police continue to investigate.
