A distress call came in from a man and woman from Youngsville saying their boat was having problems.  They reported that they were stuck in the area of Dry Reef in Vermilion Bay, and they were going to need help.  Sheriff Louis Ackal's office reports that no one was injured.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office sent out their Water Rescue unit commanded by Captain Ricky Boudreaux.  Boudreaux was able to locate the two stranded Youngsville couple, and escort them along with their 22-foot fishing boat to shore.

Sheriff Louis Ackal states “The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Water Rescue Unit is on constant 24 hour call and able to respond to nearly all emergencies on the many waterways within Iberia Parish”.
