Youngsville Mom Arrested – Two Counts Of Child Desertion

Saturday night Youngsville Police received a call about a child walking alone down Cricklade Court. Police found the four year and took the child home where no one answer their knock. Police broke down the front door of the home and found the child's mother allegedly passed out on the bathroom floor. According to our news partners at KATC the mother allegedly admitted to taking an anti-depressant and drinking alcohol.

Police discovered a 3 month old in the home. The children were taken from the home by the State Department of Child and Family Services.

The mother, 35 year old Rebekah Lajaunie was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on two counts of child desertion and outstanding warrants from St. Landry Parish.
