ZACHARY, La. (AP) — Voters in the Zachary Community School District decide Dec. 8 whether to renew a 38.2-mill property tax to fund the district.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/Tt4LwK ) the tax has been collected since the district began operating in 2003.

The school board collects about $7.6 million annually from the tax, which supports salaries and benefits for teachers and other school personnel, technology purchases and routine operational costs.
