The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is cracking down on drinking and boating this weekend. Spokesperson Adam Einck says increased patrols will be on the lookout for those operating a boat while intoxicated during Operation Dry Water.  Einck says during the dry water weekend LDWF agents will be looking for boat operators whose blood alcohol content level exceeds the state limit of .08 percent.  Einck says Louisiana had 21 fatalities from boating crashes last year and alcohol was the leading primary cause. He says we've already had at least 20 fatalities so far this year. He says impaired drivers caught this weekend can expect the penalties to be severe.
