Our media partners at KATC-TV3 are reporting that the disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico has been upgraded to a Hurricane by the National Hurricane Center. Hurricane Zeta is projected to make landfall late Wednesday.

The National Hurricane Center upgraded Zeta to a hurricane this afternoon as winds have reached 75mph.

KATC's current track has Hurricane Zeta set to reach Southeast Louisiana late Wednesday.

If Hurricane Zeta does indeed make landfall in Louisiana, it will be the third hurricane in two months to affect the state.
