Just Released Buzz Aldrin Interview And Things You Didn’t Know About Moon Landing [VIDEO]
This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Most of us can remember where we were when it happened. People stood in front of store fronts and watched televisions through the windows, children gathered in schools across America and if you weren't near a television, you were probably listening to the radio. Recently Buzz Aldrin gave a great interview on YouTube detailing the moon landing. It's fascinating.
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the surface of the moon July 20th, 1969. America landed men on the moon 5 other times, but Armstrong and Aldrin have received the most attention.
They walked around for 2 hours and 36 minutes. They were supposed to grab a nap before walking but were too excited. Michael Collins orbited in the command unit while Armstrong and Aldrin were taking a stroll. The astronauts only had about 15 seconds worth of fuel left when the spacecraft touched down.
Some of the items we now have on Earth because of NASA's lunar landings include thermal blankets, tiny cameras, fireproof clothing, vacuum-sealed food, shock-absorbing sneakers, even Dustbusters!
Youngsters of today have fancy smartphones and computers but they've never put a man on the moon. And if you watch the interview below, you will see what may be the first selfie ever and definitely the first one in space!
