8-Year-Old Haughton Boy Killed When ATV Flips
HAUGHTON, La. (AP) — Police in the northern Louisiana city of Haughton say an 8-year-old boy was killed this weekend while riding an all-terrain vehicle with another child.
Police say in a news release that the ATV flipped on top of Lawson Brandon and the other 8-year-old boy Saturday while Lawson's grandmother was trying to get the children's attention to tell them to slow down.
Neither boy was wearing a helmet, and police say Lawson suffered severe head trauma. Lawson was airlifted to LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport, where he was pronounced dead.
