As some of you may know, I played college baseball at a Division III University located in upstate New York in a beautiful place right on Lake Champlain called SUNY Plattsburgh.

Last weekend, the team kicked off their season at "Baseball Heaven" an outstanding complex full of turfed out fields and players enjoying the game on Long Island in New York. I've actually coached there a handful of times and always enjoyed it.

However, I didn't enjoy the video I saw of my Alma-mater when they played the second game of a doubleheader Sunday against Maritime College.

After dominating the first game 17-4, they found themselves in a closer contest trailing 5-4 in the top of the seventh inning (D3 non-conference DH's are most of the time two 7 inning games) with one run already in they had the tying run at second base with two outs.

What happened next is almost unbelievable...

No matter what, I'll always love my Alma-mater, giving a kid from CT an opportunity to play college baseball when I never got the chance to play varsity baseball in high school. However, this one hurt to watch...
