A police officer loses his job after a shooting incident two months ago.

Authorities say the Abbeville City Council fired officer William Proctor yesterday for allegedly shooting his gun at a speeding car that refused to stop.

Proctor says he did it because he feared for the safety of those nearby. A grand jury, however, found no evidence to indict Proctor for his actions.
