Acadiana Restaurants Continue Adapting To Take-Out Model
Exactly a week since the Stay-At-Home Mandate and more than a week since Gov. John Bel Edward's order limiting restaurants to curbside, takeout, and delivery service many Lafayette restaurants are continuing to adapt to the take-out model.
Charlie Goodson, a partner in Southern Hospitality Kitchens which owns restaurants like Charley G's, Pete's, and Social Southern Table and Bar tells the Daily Advertiser some restaurants are seeing success amid the changes.
Goodson says one of his main focuses is keeping workers employed.
This is why he says that even though most of his restaurants aren't profiting from carryout and delivery services, he maintains operation of the business.
Many of his restaurants are also offering family meals which are cheaper options that can feed up to a family of 6 in some cases.
Goodson says uncertainty is what is making the waiting game so hard. And while he predicts that many restaurants will be able to make it through the next few months, financial burdens may force some to close their doors.
