ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Many Alexandria city employees are about to get a bonus.

The City Council on Tuesday approved a budget adjustment granting one-time end-of-year payments of $2,500 to qualified employees.

The Town Talk reports (http://townta.lk/XUA7lZ ) that most employees qualify if they have been with the city for one full year and are not a firefighter with three to 23 years of service. Those firefighters have received a 2 percent raise.
