Annual state teacher summit opens Wednesday in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — More than 6,500 Louisiana educators are expected to be in New Orleans this week for an annual teacher summit.
The Louisiana Department of Education says the summit will be held at the city's convention center from Wednesday through Friday. Teachers will meet with their peers and attend professional development training events over the three days.
It's the seventh annual Louisiana Teacher Leader Summit. More than 300 sessions are being offered at this year's event, with topics including early childhood education to school improvement.
