AOC Community Media is one of Lafayette not-so-hidden gems. Sure, we all know about the Acadiana Open Channel through its sometimes off-the-wall programming, including a guy dressed as Santa Claus doing karaoke.

But, did you know AOC offers classes to learn more about digital media? Those classes, offered to youths and adults alike, cover video production, television production, audio production, Photoshop, acting, and more.

The newest program is aimed at teachers in Lafayette Parish. AOC's new media literacy module will help K-12 educators teach their students about responsible social media consumption, copyrights and fair use, and how to critically analyze commercial advertising--just to name a few topics.  The interactive program is free for educators to utilize.

To learn more about the program, call AOC at 337-232-4434 or visit their website, www.aocinc.org.
