DONALDSONVILLE, La. (AP) — The Ascension Parish School Board is investigating allegations that a former Donaldsonville High School secretary stole money from the school.

Board members met for 15 minutes in executive session following Tuesday night's meeting to discuss the investigation.

The Advocate reports former employee, Tremechia Shendrale Butler, of Plaquemine, was arrested by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office on June 15 and charged with felony theft.

District Attorney Ricky Babin said that no trial date has been set in Butler's case.

Ascension Parish Superintendent Patrice Pujol said that Butler worked at Donaldsonville High School from February 2011 to June 2011. Butler had left her job with the school system before school district officials discovered the alleged theft during an audit.
