Rob Kirkpatrick is a certified news junkie and Brand Manager of NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL and TalkRadio960. Rob hosts “Acadiana’s Morning News” alongside Bernadette Lee weekdays on KPEL. Originally from Mandeville Louisiana, He moved to Acadiana to pursue his bachelor’s degree and is a proud graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Department of Communication. During stints in radio and television at KATC TV 3, Rob fell in love with news and the people in Acadiana. He also fell in love with his future wife, Sarah. Shortly after graduation, He accepted a job in Dallas; producing ‘Good Day’ for FOX News owned and operated station KDFW FOX 4. In 2012, Rob was offered the opportunity of a lifetime to move to Atlanta and work for CNN. He rose to the ranks of Senior Producer at CNN Newsource, the network’s affiliate group, helping manage relationships with over 900 broadcast properties around the world. He will tell you these years were the most formative of his professional life. He got married and had his first daughter in Atlanta. But it was the birth of his second daughter, that started to pave the road back to Lafayette. While on paternity leave (yes, that’s a real thing some places), Rob met with Townsquare Media GM Mike Grimsley about an opportunity to move back. The rest, as they say, is history. Rob is active in the Acadiana area and sits on the board for the Acadiana Chapter of the American Red Cross. He supports other worthy causes such as Maddie’s Footprints, Healing House and the Home For The Holiday’s campaign. You can listen to his show live 6-9am weekdays on NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL and TalkRadio960.
