Baton Rouge Woman Booked With Medicaid Fraud

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A 34-year-old Baton Rouge woman has been booked with seven counts of Medicaid fraud for filing false claims.

Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell says Angela A. Taylor was arrested by investigators from the Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit on Thursday.

Caldwell says the complaint was initially referred to investigators by the Legislative Auditor's Office.

He says Taylor, a personal care attendant, is charged with submitting false timesheets to her employer claiming that she provided personal care services to a Medicaid patient at the patient's home, while actually attending to other patients.

This overlap resulted in the Medicaid program being falsely billed $7,315.

It was unclear whether Taylor has an attorney.
