Bike / 18 wheeler clash

Lafayette Police say a bicyclist was critically injured Sunday night when he rolled into the path of an 18-wheeler neat the intersection of Northeast Evangeline and Bellot Street.  The 48-year-old male was ejected and thrown onto the roadway when his bike struck the trailer of the semi shortly before 9 p.m.  The identity of the victim was not immediately available.  The truck driver was not injured.  The accident remains under investigation.
