BP has issued a statement regarding the release of the Unified Command’s Operational Science Advisory Team (OSAT) report.

"The scientific evidence in this report is consistent with our observations that the beaches are safe, the water is safe, and the seafood is safe," said Mike Utsler, BP's Unified Area Commander. "BP still has work to do to finish cleaning up the remaining oil that is near the shoreline, and we continue to work with the communities of the Gulf Coast to meet our commitments. We know our job is not done. We appreciate the hard work of the many scientists who participated in this unprecedented study of the Gulf of Mexico, and we hope people will recognize that this region is ready to welcome the country back to its beaches and waters."
