British PM Boris Johnson Tests Positive For COVID-19
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has become the first major world leader to be diagnosed with COVID-19, or as its commonly known, coronavirus.
The news has been confirmed by multiple reports overseas, and even by Johnson's personal social media.
Johnson is now self-isolating at 10 Downing Street. But says that he will be leading his nation's efforts in fighting the coronavirus from home. He intends to video conference with his team while he remains at home.
The 55-year-old Johnson says that the public needs to follow the guidelines put together by his government, which includes nation-wide self-isolation. He adds that the speed of the recovery measures will be a directly result of compliance. The more people who stay inside and safe, the faster the measures can be lifted.
Johnson's fiance, Carrie Symonds is currently pregnant. There was no immediate word on how the couple will handle the self-isolation and positive virus test. Most medical professionals are urging pregnant women to take extra precautions during the outbreak.
