Lafayette Parish School officials are looking for drivers who ignore stop signs on school buses.

According to this article by our news partners at KATC, School System Transportation Director Damon Evans tell the Advocate that they are testing traffic surveillance cameras on three of its buses in order to gather that information. He says based on the information gathered they could consider hiring a traffic monitoring company to ticket violators.

Evans says so far, since the district launched the program in accordance with Redflex Traffic Systems in December, they have seen 10 illegal passes. It's important to note that during this testing time, no tickets are being issued.
