The new Cajun Cannabis location on Johnston Street was raided overnight in Lafayette. The raid by Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Deputies came just hours after the owner of the store was arrested on felony drug charges, according to KATC. Travis DeYoung was out of jail Thursday morning when he confirmed the raid to reporters.

The Sheriff's department has not publicly said what they were looking for, what they found or if anything was seized.

According to arrest reports, DeYoung was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail on several drug charges including a felony charge for the manufacture, distribution, and possession of marijuana.

Since the store opened on April 20th, there have been concerns about the legality of the business. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms says there are specific guidelines for the sale of CBD products.

As KATC reported, the store received its official occupancy certificate from LCG on April 18.
